Actualizing a Vision Across the System

Watch Our Story

Our Story

e3 Civic High School's vision is developing engaged, empowered, and educated youth who are ready for the future: college, career, and life.

Bringing students' Life Plans to life requires deep alignment and intentional effort across e3's learning ecosystem so that students don't just know the blueprint, but experience it. In addition to their learning model, three systems e3 uses systematically are advisory, presentations of learning (PoLs), and student-led conferences (SLCs). Advisory is structured around college and career readiness, which means not just engaging in a college research project, but also personal development (goal setting, leadership work, reflection, and restorative circles). Next year, they will build a workforce project, too, so that career work doesn't stay limited to their 12th grade internship experience.

This work, along with their academic endeavors, are captured in their student portfolios and accompanying student-led conferences. These conferences are presentations where students showcase their learning to their teachers and classmates; e3 collects and analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data on these presentations using its rubric aligned to their end-of-school learning goals. Each student further captures their life-readiness in their culminating 12th grade presentation of learning.

In addition to engaging instruction, a strength of e3 is their coherent implementation of a vision that, at the end of the day, changes outcomes for children. The next step in this journey is launching their new and improved digital profile.
